When Jacques Polge created the original Bleu de Chanel in 2010, he built a fragrance that balanced freshness and woody depth in a way that spoke to a very wide audience of men. The Parfum version, signed by his son Olivier Polge in 2018, takes the same skeleton and deepens it: the wood notes are more pronounced, the projection more deliberate, the overall character more self-assured.
The opening of lemon zest, bergamot, mint and artemisia is recognisably Bleu — that specific combination of fresh synthetics producing citrus-grade freshness that the house has made its own. Pineapple adds a fruity-tropical accent that keeps the opening from reading as entirely masculine aromatic.
Lavender, pineapple, geranium and green notes fill the heart. In the Parfum, the lavender is slightly more prominent than in the EDP, lending the heart a herbal register that reads as deliberate rather than accidental.
