Description
Kayali Vanilla 28 launched in 2018 as one of Kayali's inaugural offerings, co-created with perfumer Jérôme Epinette, and quickly became the anchor around which the entire Kayali olfactory universe was built. Its stated ambition — to explore twenty-eight facets of vanilla — gives it unusual depth for what might otherwise be dismissed as a simple sweet fragrance.
The opening uses bergamot and lemon peel to keep the entry fresh and non-cloying. The heart sees jasmine and bergamot blossom create a floral counterpoint to the vanilla sweetness. The base, where Madagascar vanilla bean, Tahitian vanilla flower, tonka and amber converge, is where the fragrance truly distinguishes itself — warm, rounded and disarmingly gentle.
It doubles beautifully as a layering base for nearly any other Kayali number, which has contributed significantly to its cult status and the brand's unique layering-focused identity.
