Description
Released in 2018 as part of Louis Vuitton's Les Parfums collection, Ombre Nomade was conceived as a monument to oud — not as an ingredient, but as an entire universe. Jacques Cavallier Belletrud, the house's in-house master perfumer working from his Grasse atelier, selected Assam oud of the highest grade to anchor the composition.
The opening is unexpectedly lyrical: raspberry and rose soften the approach, while saffron adds a warm, slightly metallic spice. As the top notes dissolve, the Assam oud emerges in its full splendour — dark, resinous, almost architectural in its presence.
Incense, birch and geranium form a complex transitional layer before the base of benzoin, amberwood and raspberry settles into a lingering, luminous warmth. The fragrance calls to mind ancient trade routes, Omani souks, and the deep history of aromatic wood in Middle Eastern ceremony.
For wholesale buyers, Ombre Nomade represents the pinnacle of luxury oud offerings. It commands premium shelf space and consistently draws a discerning clientele.
