Launched in 2014, YSL L'Homme Parfum represents Yves Saint Laurent's commitment to deepening one of modern perfumery's most successful masculine frameworks. Dominique Ropion, the master perfumer behind the original L'Homme, returned to intensify his own creation with a richer, more resinous palette.
The opening retains the signature Sicilian bergamot and Italian lavender of the original, but the progression moves rapidly toward the heart: bitter cocoa absolute and earthy vetiver from Haiti shift the composition from fresh fougère toward semi-oriental territory. Pink pepper and ginger maintain a sharpening counterweight.
In the dry-down, vetiver remains the commanding note while davana weed, sandalwood, and a warm amber resin create a remarkably deep and enduring base. The result is recognizably L'Homme at first breath, yet a fully distinct character by the second hour.
